Maison Close Hosiery & Socks
Maison Close's hosiery line, anchored by the cut & curled stocking — a finish that came about when the house's founder, Nicolas Busnel, cut a pair of tights down into stockings on a photoshoot. The raw edge curled rather than frayed, and Maison Close went on to make them properly. The range has grown from there: back-seamed stockings and tights, hold-ups, ankle socks, and pieces cut to match the lingerie collections they sit alongside.

The cut & curled stockings are the style that defines this part of the house. Nicolas Busnel, the founder of Maison Close, was cutting a pair of tights down to stockings on a photoshoot. The raw edge curled back on itself instead of fraying, and the result looked better than a conventional welt. He went on to produce stockings with that finish deliberately — no elastic welt, no silicone band, just a clean curled edge sitting against the thigh. It is the least fussy top line you can put on a stocking, and on the right leg, it disappears.
The range has widened considerably since. Back-seamed stockings in sheer black. Double side-seamed and front-seamed styles for something less expected. Back-seamed tights in the same fine polyamide and elastane blend. Hold-ups with lace tops. Ankle socks, fishnets in several gauges, and pieces cut to coordinate with the lingerie collections.
Worn with the rest of the Maison Close wardrobe, the hosiery doesn't complete an outfit so much as explain it. Worn with anything else — a plain dress, a suit, bare lingerie — it does more. The back of the leg is one of the few places left in modern dress where a single visual detail still carries real weight. Maison Close understands that, and builds for it.
